 Ken Helfing is the founder and senior managing attorney/lawyer of The Helfing Law Firm. A native of LosAngeles, CA, Ken attended UCLA while working as a senior paralegal for over five years and then pursued his Juris Doctor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, successfully graduating cum laude. His interaction and experience working with court professionals and judges during his clerkships in the state and appellate courts system provided him with invaluable insight and knowledge. He now brings that hard earned knowledge and his natural tenacity to bear for his clients. While many attorneys view themselves as “problem solvers”, Ken prefers to take the proactive approach and be a “problem avoider.” But when a fight is unavoidable, then his motto is “fight hard, fight to win.”
That is why Ken chose to open his own firm. He believes in a more personal approach to practicing law. It’s not enough just to win. When representing a client, the client’s interests must always be considered. On a syndicated radio talk show, Ken was interviewed about the Terri Schiavo matter. Not only was he asked to stay even longer to continue the interview, but the venerated radio personality made the comment to Ken and said, “You know, you’re the first lawyer I could actually understand.” And that’s just how Ken likes it. Ken, however, likes to take that one step further. In furtherance of his vision to build a law firm that is personal to its clients, he strives to ensure that The Helfing Law Firm are not only the lawyers you can understand, but the lawyers who also understand you.
Always the competitor and outdoor enthusiast, you will find Ken playing golf, shooting skeet and competitive pistol matches, as well as practicing martial arts and scenario paintball. But most of all, he enjoys best the time spent with his wife and their two awesome boys.
